• If a customer notifies you that they have had a personal item stolen from the shop, we as a business cannot officially report the incident to the police.
• The customer has to officially do this.
• To facilitate this you should:
I. Offer to contact the police using the shop phone.
II. Ring the police and pass the phone over to the customer.
III. Once the customer has reported the incident speak to the police officer. Be ready to explain what CCTV coverage you have in the shop.
IV. Take down an incident number from the police officer.
V. Provide a copy of the incident number to the customer.
VI. If police need CCTV footage please email Maintenance and your Ops Manager.
VII. Once the incident has been reported to the police and CCTV footage has been provided (if available/requested) no further action needs to be taken by you apart from notify your Ops.
